noun
a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data.
My infographic started out with just sketches and a mood board (shown above). I wanted to create an infographic about a place I had visited before on vacation. I wanted my graphic to display information about the place of Sedona, AZ. I also wanted to pick a color palette that went along with the theme and the place of my choosing. The mood board helped me pick several different color palettes and fonts for examples. I ended up choosing one that had common southwestern colors.
I spent a long time looking for facts about Sedona and writing them down in a Microsoft Word Document. Once I had come up with ten, I started to make icons for the poster that went with the different facts. After the icons, I created more graphics for the rest of the poster including the canyon at the top of the infographic.
I enlisted the help of some friends for organizing my text and icons. I didn't want the poster to look cluttered and decided that getting advice from people who would look at my poster would benefit it a lot. I put my sources (websites that I used for resource) at the bottom of the poster in a small font so it wouldn't distract away from the infographic.
Once the graphic was completed, I had it printed out in the Copy Center in my shop and presented it in front of my class to explain my concept and ideas.
